That Day

THAT DAY
Knot in your stomach, your mind is holding on to darkened moments that you bring out in song. As the darkened shadows seemed to be disappearing as lights were turned on in a breeze.
Seeming that nothing wanted to work out to the schedule you had, instead it drifted out of your fingers as nothing came together as you thought it should, by and by...
You found that as you turned, the world had turned without you, and everything had changed in moments, they were nothing after all.
When all was said and done, you found it all had happened then. In a moment that you turned away, you saw it fade and fall away, but moments change and everything seemed to be back in place that day.
But you knew the shift had been there anyway, you couldn't quite explain the change. The furniture was there, but it all seemed a slight derange from things you felt that you had known.
And nothing worked out like you thought it would for you, and now you turn around and say, "I knew it, I knew it then", but you had known nothing that you turned away and blinked and said that you were there & never turned up squarely where you said that you could be found, and if you found the way to turn the thought that you had strayed away from everything that turned out in a different way that day.

Scream And Shout

SCREAM AND SHOUT
Scream and shout and punch and kick, I just want to let it lift.
I want to explode, I want relief. I will scream and shout and punch and kick, I want to explode, things will remain as they have always been.
I don't have the strength, have I found my purpose and the meaning of my life? I will take this task of mine. Scream and shout and punch and kick, I want to explode it within, share the truth I know about, I want you to scream and shout!
Do they have the right to take away the choices in our lives? Do they have the right to think that they have rights over your lights?
But they don't understand, they want the green and beautiful land. All they see from within is the need to have more,
don't they know, all the money in the world.

Heaven's Brand

HEAVEN'S BRAND
Lord of his couch as his career
His sanctuary, still domain
Let me turn, eyes so blind
Like heaven's brand
My boldness strikes forward now
Behind the whiter star upon his brow
Glittering straight against the sun
Too close to his lair do I run
In mute wildness, some kind of creature are you now
And your dark lustre cools the wild from the spring
Piercing to heaven, a radiant horn
Lord of his couch as his career
His sanctuary, still domain

Shine Down

SHINE DOWN
For what hath been can never be as if it had not been at all
For what had been can never be as if it had not been at all
We gaze but never can we see, retrace your footsteps fall
Oh a guiding hand for all the way
How we need it from day to day
What should we choose, he pondered long
The sounds of birds and bees
For a light from heaven, clear and divine
On the path before me, brightly shine
For what had been can never be as if it had not been at all
We gaze but never can we see for what had never been at all
An oft-repeated song, a soft and supple melody I found
Oh for a light from heaven, clear and divine, shine down
Watch for lights from heaven's touch
Onward and homeward should I hear
This is the way, it is clear
Hours flit on by, hours flit on by
Loud wind crashes, moans
Strong rain lashing home
Torrent under a bridge
Slippery stones, cold and wet
Storm-beaten and alone
Faintly where the road has led
In the shadow of the depths
Through the briars, fears and grass
On the grimmest rocks
They mount with panting breath to sterner toll
Faint and wounded, bleeding
Hungry thirst and chill into the bone
Steeper thorns on growing hill
Growing old, growing old
Strong winds they disappear
They quiver, ache unto the bone

Slow Burn

SLOW BURN
I'm on a slow burn, just taking my time
Don't really think about the reason or the rhyme
If I found a way to touch the things I want
Maybe they would be an honour for us all
And if I could see the truth that you had hid
Maybe then this feeling would get out of my head
Feeling like I'm on a slow burn tonight
If I knew the rhyme or reason, would we fight?
Understand me not, I do not even try
Why analyze the things that make you feel alive?
It's alright now, the slow burn's on
If you wonder about the things that you have done
It's alright, the slow burn's done
It's time to turn around and turn out all the light
